Coaching in person - how does it work?

I offer an initial meeting free of charge. This is for us both - for me to learn about you and what you’re looking for from coaching, and for you get a sense of whether you'll feel comfortable working with me.

I'll be open about what you can expect from me and the coaching I provide and tell you whether I think my approach would be helpful in your situation. If we decide not to work together then we can discuss what other options are available.

What then, and for how long?

If we decide to work together then we develop a programme that suits your needs. The length and frequency of sessions depends on what you are hoping to achieve. Sessions normally last between 45 and 90 minutes.

Unlike therapy, where weekly sessions are often the norm, coaching usually involves less frequent sessions over a longer timescale - typically one or two sessions a month over a few months. This enables you to integrate, review and refine the learning from our sessions into your wider life.

Regular review of your progress, and how well we are working together, ensures that you keep 'on track' in terms of your goals, and that we can adjust the programme if the need arises.

You can read more about my approach and the principles which inform it in the section My approach

Where do we meet?

I’m based in Brighton and have a coaching room located in the Hanover area, close to the city centre. If you’re travelling by train it’s about 10 minutes walk from Brighton station. There is free street parking in the area.
