Personal counselling and therapy
Find a way out of the maze

I provide counselling and therapy for individuals, both short and longer term.

I work both face to face, serving Brighton and Hove and surrounding areas and also provide counselling UK-wide by telephone and Skype.

About counselling and therapy

We all have times when life may feel too much, or when we feel stuck and can't see a way forward. At times like these it can help to talk to someone outside your situation, who can listen without judgement and help you gain a sense of perspective and direction once more.

Counselling and psychotherapy provide a space where you can explore the issues and concerns that are troubling you and help you regain a sense of balance and direction.

The good news is that on average, 80% of people who have therapy are significantly better off than people who do not.

You can read more about the effectiveness of therapy in the section What works in therapy?...

My approach

The model of therapy I use is known as integrative and brings together a range of approaches in a coherent framework.

This approach recognises that there is no 'one size fits all' in therapy, and that there are benefits to clients when therapists are able to draw on a range of therapeutic approaches.

I recognise that every client is unique, and aim to create a way of working with you that is equally unique and effective for you. I've learned to ask not "does this type of therapy work?" but "is this approach working for you right now?"

The way that I work is informed both by experience and by evidence of what is known to work in therapy. You can find out more about my approach by clicking here

The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (of which I'm a accredited member) is the largest professional association for the professions.

There's a short, informative video on their website which provides an excellent flavour of what therapy is, and what to expect, as well as other useful guidance.
